Welcome to Reaching and Impacting Nations (R.A.I.N.)

at this time r.a.i.n. has one ongoing mission venture. It is to the children, leadership, facility and grounds of the King Jesus Charity Home in Kumasi, Ghana West Africa.

Below is a slide show of some of the beautiful faces of the children who have lived at kjch. there are more photos see on the Ghana page. Read on to learn about some of the projects RAIN has been instrumental in completing through our generous donors.

King Jesus Charity Home

This orphanage is home to nearly 200 children of all ages. The needs are great and ongoing.

Our Current Project - Reconstruction of the Main Building

In the fall of 2023 it became very apparent that the main building on the orphanage’s compound needed to be razed and rebuilt. the structural integrity of this 40 year old building was tenuous at best - and there was grave concern for the safety of the children, staff and leadership.

They have completed the demolition and structural reconstruction of the first floor and are ready to begin the second level construction once they have the funds for materials. The orphanage is supplying all the labor for this project.

2021 Project - Solar Project

Due to the graciousness of our donors we were able to fund this project in totality by early spring. the materials were purchased and all work completed within just a few weeks allowing for much needed relief from using city electricity

2017 Project - Security Camera System

The orphanage had been in need of a security camera system due to vandalism. Using the monies RAIN sent, the orphanage was able to purchase all the materials needed to have a functioning system. A local craftsman gave instruction and guidance to both the staff and the older children living at the orphanage so that they were equipped to install the system themselves.

2010 Second Floor Dormitory Rooms Project

In 2010 R.A.I.N. was able to fund the much needed addition of several second floor rooms to a dormitory building. Since then we have sent monies to help with operating expenses due to changes in government policies for orphanages.

below are photos of the dormitory addition, well project, security camera and solar panel projects construction and installation and current progress of the rebuilding of the main building.

NON-RELATED KING JESUS CHARITY HOME PROJECTS

2016 -  Sewing Machine Purchase

Founded by a local Christian woman, xpert Klodin is a business based on sewing. The founder is a very talented wife and mother who finished her degree after having her second child. She and her husband now have three children. She sews professionally, and also teaches young women to sew to provide them with an employable skill.

In the spring of 2016, Xpert Klodin was in need of sewing machines for their students in their home-based school. RAIN was able to send the funds needed to purchase three machines; one industrial and two regular. These machines were purchased from a local business thus providing income to that business owner which is one of RAIn's objectives. We encourage recipients of rain funds to, whenever possible, purchases/services that are provided by local businesses.
